My Sick Baby

We had a rather eventful week. Marion Clare started running a low grade temp. late Monday night. Tuesday morning it was around 101, and I was alternating tylenol and motrin every 4 hours. I talked to the nurse on Tuesday and we decided that I should bring her in on Wednesday if she wasn't feeling better. Wednesday morning she was feeling terrible and her fever was between 101 - 103 and I could barely get her to drink. I took her to our pediatrician's office, when we checked in her temp was 101 and after being there 30-40 minutes her temp shot up to 106.8. I was a nervous wreck. I am so thankful that I was in the right place when this all happened. The doctor and nurse immediately wrapped her in cold towels until they could get her temp down. We then immediately checked into the hospital. They gave her an iv, put her on oxygen right away, did x rays, and lab work. She wasn't so thrilled about her iv, but did much better than expected. She didn't even make a sound when the lab tech. came in to take some blood. I was amazed and so were the nurses. She will usually limp for 2 days if she has a scratch on her knee, really. She watched it all and was very curious as to what they were doing. She told me it hurt "just a little." She was one tough and brave little girl. I know she doesn't get that from her mommy or daddy. My pain tolerance is pretty low and daddy's is probably even lower. ;) In addition to our very eventful week, Grandaddy was having surgery in Little Rock and Daddy was in NYC for work. He would have been home in a heartbeat, but by the time I even had a chance to call him the worst was over. I am so BLESSED to have some amazing friends and family that helped us out so much. Pretty sure I could not have made it those couple of days without them. Late Thursday afternoon we were able to go home, which made us both very happy!

She had either a bacterial or viral infection which led to a small case of pneumonia. She also has asthma(which I'm hoping and praying she will grow out of as she gets older), so when she gets sick she usually gets really sick. ;( She is still not 100%, but much much much better. I am so thankful, because I know it could have been much worse. We definitely do not want to go back anytime soon, but I do have to say I think Marion Clare might have enjoyed her hospital stay just a little. :) The nurses made her feel like a princess. They fixed her up with a Cinderella blanket and a Tinkerbell pillow. They also brought in a Tinkerbell t.v. with disney princess movies and a few toys and books. What more could a girl want! :)

Marion Clare we are so happy that you are feeling much better. You gave us quite the scare. You are one brave little girl! We love you to the moon and back, forever and always!
